City Church Chicago is guided by our Advisory Boards.

City Church has two advisory boards, one for financials and church operations, and one that advises on ministry matters. The leadership advisory boards provide insight to Pastors Kent and Alli Munsey and our staff. They work to serve the church as it expands and grows into all God has planned.

Legal Board

City Church is governed by our Board of Directors. We have a legal church board that meets throughout the year to ensure the health of our church and would also step in and work closely with the spiritual overseers in certain situations. The legal board ensures compliance with regulations.

PASTOR KENT MUNSEY is the founding and senior pastor of City Church Chicago.

PASTOR ALLI MUNSEY is the co-founding and co-senior pastor of City Church Chicago.

Leadership Advisory Board

PASTOR KENT MUNSEY is the founding and senior pastor of City Church Chicago. Pastor Kent has over 20 years experience working in ministry. Before planting City Church, Pastor Kent had the opportunity to oversee multiple areas in ministry, from children’s ministry to executive pastor. In addition to pastoring City Church Chicago, Pastor Kent is on the board of Integrity Leadership Ministries, a pastors network. He also has produced the movie Southern Gospel.

PASTOR ALLISON MUNSEY is the co-founding and co-senior pastor of City Church Chicago. Alongside her husband, Pastor Kent, Pastor Alli has over 20 years experience working in ministry and overseeing multiple areas of the church. Pastor Alli has a strong creative gifting and believes in the power of evangelism through the creative wing of the church.

REYAHD D.J. KAZMI, J.D. M.A. is the Chief Advocacy & Government Strategies Officer for National Youth Advocate Program. In addition, he is the owner of Kazmi Advisors, a Chicago-based consulting firm. Mr. Kazmi is also the Chief Strategy Officer for Civint. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law and Glenn School of Public Affairs where he received his J.D. and M.A. in Public Policy and Management. Reyahd is married to Anna Valencia, Chicago City Clerk, and together they have a daughter and a dog.

JENNIFER BALLARD CROFT is dedicated to providing women of color with the knowledge and resources  they need to navigate law school and thrive in the legal profession. She currently is a member of the State Board of Elections and serves as the General Counsel and Chief People Officer at Resource Innovations, Inc., a clean energy solutions company. Jennifer previously served as the Chief of Staff and Chief Diversity Officer for Cook County State’s Attorney, Kimberly M. Foxx. Jennifer earned her B.A. in Economics at Spelman College. She  received her  J.D.  with  a  certificate in Health Law from Loyola University School of Law. 


MARIA WHITEMAN COAR
is a real estate attorney. She is General Counsel  and the Senior Vice President of Business Affairs at  Lodgeworks  Partners,  L.P.  where she is responsible for the legal aspects and financing for real estate projects. Maria  earned  her  J.D.  from  Loyola  University  Chicago  School  of  Law, and earned her B.S. in  Behavioral  Science and Law  from  the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Maria is married to Kamau Coar and has two children.

RON HICKMAN is a servant leader who has served the kingdom for over 30 years, forging deep friendships and leading through Next Steps and various life groups. In his business career, he advanced from janitorial duties to becoming an Equity Vice President at LaSalle Partners (now Jones Lang LaSalle), before founding Community Specialists, Inc., where he serves as Chairman of the Board. Ron and his wife Karen have four children and many "bonus" children, and they enjoy skiing, traveling, and spending time with their Bernadoodle, Poppy.

WILL MOORE is a servant leader who has been a member of City Church Chicago for over 7 years. Will Moore has 19 years experience working in banking and financial services. Will Moore also has experience working specifically with church finances. From 2006-2013, Will was a servant leader at Transformation Church in their accounting and financial management.

Ministries Advisory Board

PASTOR TODD POWERS and his wife Julie founded Empower International in 2003 with the mission of empowering next-generation leaders. After selling everything they owned, they moved to Thailand with their two daughters, Stephanie and Tiffany, to serve Jesus. Over 20 years later, Empower International’s work has expanded to Thailand, Myanmar, and Pakistan, focusing on leadership development, Bible schools, human trafficking prevention, disaster relief, children’s homes, church planting, and more. Todd and Julie also train and host short-term missions groups from City Church Chicago in Thailand annually. Together, they have influenced people in over 70 countries, continuing to lead Empower International with a heart for transforming lives through the Gospel.

DR. PAM ROSS is an inspirational activist, captivating speaker, author, thought leader, and development coach with a powerful ability to identify and activate the genius in others. She specializes in organizational health, culture, and engagement, helping leaders redefine success and achieve their goals. With 20 years of experience, Dr. Pam continues to use innovative forms of media to reach a global audience with her dynamic message of serving, leading, and loving. Dr. Pam is the President and Lead Trainer of Kingdom Leadership Development, a non-profit training and consulting organization. She is the author of numerous books, guides, and journals. She is also the host of The Culturalist Conversations podcast. In the midst of many accomplishments and national awards, Dr. Pam considers her greatest achievement to be successfully raising three incredibly talented daughters, Imani, Nia, and Zoe.

PASTOR TOM TONEY, along with his wife, Kathy Toney, has served in ministry for over 20 years. Their ministry has been marked by a strong emphasis on reaching the next generation and has impacted the thinking of churches and organizations across the nation. Tom is unique in his presentation style, making every message both understandable and applicable to real life. Using props, media, technology and a rich heritage of God’s Word, Pastor Tom engages others with truth, empowering them to grow in Christ. Having led in churches from 40 to 15,000 people, he is a veteran leader with a gift for vision and strategy. Currently, Tom has the distinct honor of serving the ministry that his parents began in 1964, with his wife Kathy and their children, Grant, Alexandra and Max. Pastors Tom and Kathy desire a church filled with people living in the true power of Christ, able to influence every part of the community for Him.

MICHELLE MCKINNEY HAMMON is an Emmy Award-winning television co-host, author of over 40 books, singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, and advertising professional. She was named by the New York Times as one of the most visible faces in the evangelical advice industry. With 15 years in advertising at Burrell Communications, Michelle created award-winning campaigns for major brands like Coca Cola, McDonalds, Procter & Gamble, and General Motors. She is also the visionary behind MMH Tours in Ghana, MMH Collections, and Relevance Music Ministry, which blends Rock, Reggae, Jazz, and African percussion to bring worship to the streets of West Africa. Born in London, raised in Barbados and Muskegon, Michigan, Michelle now divides her time between Ghana and Chicago, traveling globally to speak, perform, and do interviews.

CHING CHUANG-CHOW is a trained architect, having studied at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she later contributed her architectural talents in Manhattan. A devoted servant of God, Ching cherishes her role as a wife and mother, and is also a marathon runner and author. In her recent book, BRIDGE: The Power of God’s Vanishing Point, Ching shares her journey of overcoming breast cancer and the deepening of her faith in Jesus. Through her story, she illustrates how God, as architect, creates His plan for our lives, bringing forth His glory and redemption. Ching's work aims to help others better understand God's majestic authority and purpose.

ROTIMI KEHINDE is a visionary, entrepreneur, purpose coach, author and speaker. He is the President and Founder of GodKulture Global, a global creative community of purpose-driven leaders. He is also the CEO/Founder of Kingdom Branding, a marketing and design agency based in Chicago. Rotimi inspires and empowers people to discover their purpose through Purpose University and PurposeFest, an annual gathering of leaders. Rotimi is also behind emerging brands such as InkSplode and Platform Circle. His most recent book, Your Purpose is Calling, has been endorsed by notable global leaders and his book The Valley of Dead Dreams, is acclaimed by readers. Rotimi is married to Aramide Kehinde and they are blessed with two lovely children, Zara and Zion.
